Tomball HS alum helps Notre Dame sweep Syracuse
A local high school graduate helped Notre Dame sweep a Big East Conference doubleheader over Syracuse. The Irish won the first game, 9-2, while taking a 7-4 victory to end the twin bill on Sunday afternoon at Syracuse Softball Stadium.
Tomball High School graduate Sadie Pitzenberger made noise in both games of the double header.
In game one of the sweep, Pitzenberger was 1-for-3 with an RBI.
In game two, Pitzenberger went 2-for-2 at the plate in the win.
At Tomball High School, Pitzenberger was named team's best catcher in 2004 and best shortstop in 2005. She led Tomball to three consecutive conference and regional rankings. Tomball also garnered national rankings in 2004 (11th), 2005 (6th) and 2006 (9th). As a senior, the three-time team MVP was also team captain, a four-time all-district choice and district MVP. She helped Tomball reach the Texas 5A championship game as a freshman. Pitzenberger was a Texas 5A first-team all-state tournament honoree on two occasions and a four-time member of Houston Chronicle's All-Greater Houston First-Team.
Born July 21, 1989, Sadie is the daughter of Ron and Daina Pitzenberger and she is majoring in political science and computer applications.
